(1) During continuous use, it is advisable to gradually increase the resistance to extend the service life.

(2) Whenever possible, connect in parallel. If the resistance values of silicon carbide rods differ, connecting them in series may cause the load to concentrate on the rod with higher resistance, leading to rapid resistance increase and shortened lifespan.

(3) Temperature distribution characteristics: The inspection standard for newly shipped products requires that the temperature variation within the effective heating length should not exceed 60°C to qualify. Naturally, temperature distribution tends to widen with aging, potentially reaching up to 200°C. The specific changes in temperature distribution also vary depending on the furnace atmosphere and usage conditions.

(4) When heated in air, a dense silicon oxide film forms on the surface, acting as an anti-oxidation protective layer that helps extend the service life. In recent years, various coatings have been developed to prevent degradation, making them suitable for use in furnaces with various gases.

(5) The greater the current applied to the silicon carbide rod, the higher the surface temperature. It is recommended to use the smallest possible surface load density (power). Please note that the values indicated for the cold end correspond to the current and voltage at 1000°C in air, which may not necessarily match actual usage conditions. Generally, the surface power is determined based on the relationship between furnace temperature and surface temperature. It is advisable to use a surface power (W/cm²) that is 1/2 to 1/3 of the maximum density.
